My Memorial Day spot for USAA. As soon as I heard about the project, I wanted to make it somber, respectful and reflective. I achieved this with black and white and splashes of red from the flag and and the poppies. I saw these images in my mind before even getting off the initial phone call with the producer. I researched and obtained the Tuskegee photos from the Library of Congress, in the process, I learned a lot about the proud history and tribulations of African Americans in the military. I'd also like to thank Jeannie Brown Johnson for having the best voice in the "Voice Over" business, so smooth!
